After each measurement campaign in controlled situations on the Cerema fog-rain platform (in December 2017 and January 2018), data analysis is used to identify the performance of the systems and also by feedback, the required improvements.
The H2020 DENSE project Workshop was held from 13 to 15 February, at the Autoliv company's research centre. Autoliv is a world specialist in vehicle safety equipment and at the forefront of new technologies, it is to date the largest supplier of automotive safety equipment in the world. Established on all continents, it has more than 72,000 associates in 27 countries. Its slogan «Save more lives».
Within the framework of WP6, Cerema presented the progress of the methodology proposed for system assessment, whose evolution meets the needs expressed by the partners. While the initial tests were carried out with realistic targets, representative of the road environment (traffic signs, markings, car, cyclist, pedestrians, obstacle on the road, tyres, exhaust…) the last tests showed the need to also use reference targets calibrated in terms of reflectance over the entire spectrum of the sensors used within the DENSE project.
The workshop also presented Autoliv's infrastructures:
-
Impact test benches
-
The test circuit for vehicles equipped with perception sensors (cameras, lidars…) to detect vulnerable users, with simulation of snow and water projection
-
The high-tech, automated production line for micro-cameras and radars integrated into vehicles
