Research team

Cerema brings together project teams to work on formally defined scientific projects. This structure takes account of Cerema’s research and innovation priorities, which include the societal challenges raised by ecological transition.

RHITME : Hydraulic Risks and Environmental Impacts at the Land-Sea Interface

Environmental and health impacts
RHITME team aims to characterize and model the dynamics of hydraulic and morphological processes along the land-sea continuum in order to better control hydraulic risks and environmental impacts, with a particular focus on extreme events, interfaces between various environments, (…)

EL: Light and Lighting research team

The EL team aims to optimise night-time artificial light emissions in order to reduce energy consumption linked to lighting and limit light pollution.

UMR MATRiS: Mobilities, Planning, Transport, Risks and Society

Risk awareness, prevention and management
Services, systems and infrastructure for mobility
Sustainable territories and cities
The UMR MATRiS scientific project focuses on the major transformation dynamics at work in transport and development systems, the means of identifying them, understanding the complexity of their interactions and modelling them.

PsyCAP: Applied Research Team in Psychology - Human and Social Sciences

Risk awareness, prevention and management
Environmental and health impacts
Services, systems and infrastructure for mobility
Sustainable territories and cities
The PsyCAP research team is made up of researchers in the Humanities and Social Sciences whose aim is to study and understand the behaviour of individuals in order to support the changes brought about by ecological, digital, energy and social transitions

ENDSUM: Non Destructive Assessment of Structures and Materials

Risk awareness, prevention and management
Natural resource-efficient society
The aim of the ENDSUM project is to develop high performance characterisation and diagnostic methods less invasive than current tools, that do not destroy the inspected materials and are capable of replacing methods based on radioactive sources with new technological developments for (…)

UMR AE: Environmental Acoustics

Environmental and health impacts
The Joint Research Unit in Environmental Acoustics (UMR AE) is a common laboratory of the Centre for Studies on Risks, Mobility, Land Planning and the Environment (Cerema) and the University Gustave Eiffel.

UMR MCD: Materials for sustainable construction

Environmental and health impacts
Natural resource-efficient society
The aim is to better understand the characteristics of construction materials comprising alternative products on three levels: durability of the structure associated with the properties of the implemented materials and the environment it is exposed to, modelling of behaviour, and (…)

BPE: High performance buildings in their environment

Environmental and health impacts
Natural resource-efficient society
Sustainable territories and cities
The BPE project team is organised in 3 research areas relating to characterisation of envelope, materials and walls, assessment of the overall performance of the building, and interactions between buildings and urban micro-climates.

ITS: Intelligent Transport Systems, towards greater safety and integration into sustainable regions

Services, systems and infrastructure for mobility
Sustainable territories and cities
The team is focusing on challenges linked to transport services, systems and infrastructures for safer mobility.

TEAM: Transfers and interactions linked to water in built environments

Environmental and health impacts
Natural resource-efficient society
Sustainable territories and cities
The ambition of TEAM’s research work is to better understand the impacts of built environments (cities and transport infrastructures): deterioration of hydric discharges, increase in polluting discharges, rise in local temperature.

GéoCoD: Geomaterials and Geomechanics: couplings and dynamics for geotechnical structures and risks

Risk awareness, prevention and management
Services, systems and infrastructure for mobility
The aim of the GéoCoD team’s project is twofold, focusing on knowledge, prevention and management of gravitational risks such as land movements in relation to adaptation to climate change and on management, optimisation, modernisation and design of infrastructures and structures.

REPSODY: Response of Soils, Sites and Structures to dynamic stresses - Earthquakes and vibrations -

Risk awareness, prevention and management
REPSODY examines the interaction between seismic waves, soils and structures to prevent potential damage to buildings and other structures. Contributing to reducing vulnerability to earthquake and vibration risks using innovative solutions is a major issue.
