Innovation at Cerema is focused on what regions do, and what they need. It is just as focused on services and methods as it is on the tools we use. It takes environmental, economic and societal factors into account. It is also open to outside input.

Research at Cerema is strongly linked to its other activities, and helps to connect the organisation with the state-of-the-art, particularly by strengthening its role as a “knowledge broker”, mediating between research and the regions of France.
